1. Find the correct fuel pump.
2. You need to clean the area around the old fuel pump so no dirt or grime will enter the engine.
3. If your fuel line is cracked then buy some replacement fuel line, or your new pump might not work properly.
4. Next remove the old fuel pump, then toss that sucker out.
5. before you install the new pump you should probably put some grease on the lever.
6. align the gasket and pump on to the engine, and tighten the screws with the same torque.
7. If your engine does not start then the gas is probably not reaching the engine. I had the same problem and used a simple foot pump for an air matress and sucked the gas through the line.
